Bringing a lifetime of experience to every repair

Boise Carbon Repair may be just a one-man operation but I would put the quality of my carbon repairs and my experience in cycling, engineering and composites up against the best of the best with confidence.

  • Origin Story

From the day I got that first “real bike” as a middle schooler in the early 90s I knew I was hooked. Ever since then one of the first things people seem to learn about me is that I’m that guy who rides bikes.

  • Education

While earning my mechanical engineering degree I constantly had bikes and composites on my mind. Just about every project involved bikes in one way or another.

  • Hands-on Carbon

My first carbon fiber projects were just for myself and were quite crude and ugly but many valuable lessons were learned along the way.

  • Racing

In the early 2000s I was fortunate to race for an elite regional team who was one of the first amateur squads in the country to receive full carbon team-issue bikes.

  • Turning Wrenches

I finished college while working as a shop mechanic where I was able to learn from some of the best mechanics in the area. This also allowed me to witness the surprising number of high-end carbon frames being sent to the dumpster because of minor damage.

  • Day Jobs

Along with carbon repair I’ve enjoyed a successful 15 year career as a mechanical engineer in various fields including industrial robotic automation and multiple forms of equipment manufacturing.

  • Continued Education

Even with over a decade of carbon repair experience under my belt I continue to seek out training opportunities. This includes the same engineering training used by several aircraft manufacturers and repair centers to teach composite repair design used on military and commercial aircraft.

  • Beyond the Bikes

As a husband and father I’m always working to find time and flexibility to be around for my family. Running my own business has been a great way to work towards that balance for myself.
